
The Challenge
Elle, the UK's biggest selling fashion magazine, has a history of high quality, talking point covermounted promotions. Pairing up with urban fashion brand Urban Outfitters, Elle wanted a gift that would lift sales while reflecting and reinforcing the brand values of both big name partners.
The Approach
Samples and swatches from Urban Outfitters' current in-store range were supplied to TCS with the idea to emulate the styles, shapes and colour trends of the season.
The challenge for TCS was to create a bag of appropriate quality for the brand while keeping to the tight budget dictated by a covermount gift.
Our in-house design team came up with various designs and then, working with our textile supplier in the Far East, we were able to supply a range of samples in various materials and shapes for the client.
The Outcome
Once the basics had been decided, details such as stitching and logo size and positions could be looked at. Nautical colourways were chosen to appeal to both cautious and adventurous consumers.
