CLIENT CHALLENGE

TCS worked closely with Immediate Media to come up with innovative covermount ideas for the October issue of DreamWorks Magazine. Coinciding with Halloween, a variety of concepts were proposed on a spooky Shrek theme.

DESIGN APPROACH

The TCS team came up with a number of different options that met the clients’ brief. Shrek is synonymous with his swamp, so the slime and slugs were a perfect addition to the large plastic face. Also included were some fun teeth of his trusty friend, Donkey. Our account handlers liaised with the factories to come up with a set that was in budget and was produced within the time frame.

SAMPLES & PRODUCTION

Once the concept was approved by DreamWorks, we worked closely with them and Immediate Media to produce 3D visuals internally. We utilised our in house 3D printer to make high quality samples. Being able to see a full size sample at such an early stage made the design process much quicker for the licensor and TCS and made the product ‘come to life’

IMPACT & RESULT

Creating a fun on-brand set with Shrek head as a character case, a pot of horrible slimy mud, donkey style teeth and of course some swamp slugs!

Kids loved this "disgusting" set which has great play value, plus encourages reading and enjoying the Shrek stories in the magazine.
