The brief
Immediate Media are one of the UK's largest magazine publishers, and at the time published Andy's Amazing Adventures. We were asked to find more environmentally sound alternatives to their existing covermount toys and packaging by reducing plastic.
Environmental improvements
The figurine was manufactured from hard-wearing PS with 30 per cent recycled content, keeping a high quality long lasting product while reducing virgin plastic. Instead of the usual blister pack the product went into a card box with no plastic window, secured with paper ties. We added an internal print so the packaging works as a play backdrop rather than being discarded on opening.
Production
From artwork onwards we handled quality control through sample checking and DUPRO and FRI inspections, plus safety and compliance. We can provide GRS certification for recycled plastic and FSC for paper and card from sustainable sources. We then handled freight into the client's UK storage facilities.
